The annual KLC Kozak Night is a grand out-door event named after the Cossacks, who were fierce fighters for their freedom and independence and lived in the area of today's Western Ukraine. Ukrainians are taking great pride in being decendants of Cossacks.

Kyiv Lions Club raises approximately $50,000 at its 15th Burns Night charity celebration
The 15th anniversary ‘Burns Night’ was held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at ACCO International and gathered over 600 guests and sponsors. All those invited were given the opportunity to help raise money for the many worthy charity projects that the KLC supports, whilst enjoying a very relaxed atmosphere of celebration. Thisyeartheeventraisedapproximately $50,000.
The entertainment program hosted by DJ Pasha was a great success. Guests enjoyed the performances by Ukrainian and international stars including: Kishe, Para Normalnyh,top bagpiper Roderick Deans, Scottish bagpiperock band of the RedHotChilliPipers, Scottish martial arts troupe the Clann and Britain’s top Beatles tribute band the Upbeat Beatles.
The auctions and lotteries proved particularly attractive with prizes such as trips to Paris, London and Las Vegas provided by Burns Night sponsors. Another example was the ‘Sounds of Music’ lottery, exclusively prepared by DJ Pasha and presented to the happy winner with a uniqueSet ofMichael Jackson Memorabilia and 6 VIP ticketsfora Slava Vakarchuk show.
Guests very much appreciated the fashion show of Ukrainian designer Elena Golets – which demonstrated the latest trends in evening dress design.Finally, everyone enjoyed the haggis, the national dish of Scotland, memorialised by the national poet Robert Burns.
The success of the KLC and Burns Night would not be possible without the support of many generous sponsors including: Johnnie Walker, Ukrainian International Airlines, the Hyatt Regency Kyiv Hotel and many others. Burns Night is organised so that the costs of the event are covered by sponsorship and ticket sales, which enable the profits to be directed to verifiable charity projects in line with International Lions Club regulations.
‘Burns Night is the party where you get the chance to make a big difference, meet the right people and have an unforgettable time. Definitely not one to be missed’, noted Dave Young, KLC president 2010.

Lions welcome new president and raise a further $30,000 for charity.
Kyiv Lions Club, following the annual tradition, announces the new president for 2010 at the Gala Dinner and raises additional funding for charitable projects - bringing the total funds for this year to approximately $170,000
12th December 2009 - Lions gather in black tie and cocktail dresses at the Hyatt Regency Kyiv hotel to celebrate this year’s charitable achievements and welcome the announcement of the new president for 2010. The event was a great success and in true Lions club fashion, displayed plenty of individual generosity and collective merriment.
